After reading several reviews good and bad, getting past my own apprehensions and just getting tired of going to the Laundromat, I finally broke down and purchased this matching Samsung DV5300 Dryer and Washing Machine set, and I am glad I did! The features and ease of use are great, and I was able to purchase this appliance set via my Perks at Work which allowed me to save some $$$! Additionally, these appliance are well balanced, quiet and all my laundry has come fresh and clean at this point from small to large loads, bedding and pillows. As with all major appliance purchases, I do recommend registering them, reading the manual to familiarize yourself with the features and functionality of them as well as for maintaining and keeping the appliances in good working condition, I did. My dryer and washing machine are front facing each other, however with the included Y connector and short cold water hose ext, and my purchase of 2-6-ft cold water hoses and a 3/4" coupler to connect the 2-6ft cold water hoses together, I am able to use the steam feature on both appliances now without leaks, loss of water pressure and/or water damage. Note: I have the short cold water hose ext. connected to the cold water faucet, next I have the end of the short cold water hose ext connect tightly to the Y-connector. From one of the sides on the Y connector, I have a cold water hose connected tightly to the washing machine and from the other side of the Y-connector, I have one end of 1 of the 6ft cold water hoses tightly connected with the 3/4" coupler and I have the other 6ft cold water hose tightly connected coming out of the other side of the 3/4" coupler going into the cold water inlet on the dryer. Gaskets will be required in each end of all the cold water hoses to prevent any unnecessary leaks, loss of water pressure and/or water damage.

This is my second set of Samsung washers and dryers. I've always been impressed at how easy it is/was to get the optimal larger sized machines so I don't have to take my King Sized bedding to a public laundromat!
In fact, right after we got the new set, we also got a pair of kittens that had never met a dog before, and they had a few accidents on our bed and on our throw rugs. The Samsung set washed and dried the linens without issue. Of course I did have to pull out the comforter and reconfigure how it was sitting in the dryer to avoid hot spots and wet spots.
My ONLY issue that I have with the dryer is the sensor doesn't seem to be as sensitive as it needs to be. I have three options between, "Dry" to "VERY dry", and yet they still come out spotty damp if its a larger load.
I really like the inside light - but wish it would stay on longer...
I totally like the way the lint filter is closed up which helps prevent excess lint from leaving the trap and going into the lint line.
It's pretty! How often do you get to leave your laundry room open to let anybody see how pretty it looks inside!

I brought this dryer three months ago, and I'm impressed with the performance. The steam cycles are great for getting out wrinkles. The sanitize is wonderful for scrubs and baby blow outs. The eco dry is another feature that saves electricity. All these features live up to the Samsung name! I love this dryer!

Bought 1 month and worked fine the first 2 weeks. Now AFTER the 15 day return policy- the sensor doesn't work and continuously have to unplug the dryer for 1-2 minutes and plug in again (per service representative) - and it still does not dry completely. Sensor says its dry so it shuts off, then have to run it on time dry 1-2 times and my loads are smaller than my old maytag dryer but this dryer is supposedly bigger. love the black color and thought it was a deal but now I'm stuck at selling a brand new dryer for 1/2 the price I bought it on sale for and buy another new dryer. We love our other samsung phones/products But HATE the dryer- sticking to Maytag/whirlpool or at least from Costco- they have better return/satisfaction policy

I've literally had my new Samsung Washer and dryer for about 9 months. Within the first 2 weeks the control panel went out on dryer. We waited for at least a week if not 2 for Samsung warranty team to call us back to rectify the problem. Lowe's ended up replacing it for us (no thanks to Samsung). Over the last few months the dryer will sporadically make a loud squeaking noise. Customer service told us that if it's not making the sound when a repair person comes out they will charge us for the visit. Now when we go to start the dryer it acts like normal; all except the part where it should start! It won't start!! When we purchased the set we did so based on Samsung's reputation for quality electronic devices. Guess they should stick to TVs. Clearly haven't mastered this market.

I have only has this dryer for a short time, but so far so good. I like that it only takes 44 minutes to dry a load of laundry instead of an hour and a half or more in my old dryer. I like the options although I have not tried them yet.

If I could go back in time to when I was purchasing my washer and dryer, I would choose not to buy these again. The dryer is alright but it has its issues. My main problem with this dryer is that it will just stop working in the middle of drying a load of laundry. It just freezes and it wont turn back on. You won't be able to change the drying setting either, because it will be frozen. I have turned it off ad back on and this does not fix the issue. Usually, the dryer will start working again after 10 or 15 minutes. On one occasion though, it would not come back on. I even unplugged it from the wall. I tried it for an entire day and it was still frozen. The next day it worked again. I have no idea what the issue. The other issue is the sensor. It does not sense anything. I usually just end up using the time dry feature to dry my laundry. If you rely on the sensor, your clothes will still be wet when it shuts itself off.

Very pleased with performance of my new dryer. It is also the best value out there for a new gas dryer in what I call the "elite branded" products. It is pretty (Stainless steel) and easy to use! I love the lint trap design. The dryer has great features and is user friendly.

We were impressed by the controls, which consist of a large dial and responsive buttons. The large, 7.5-cubic-foot drum can easily hold a family of four's worth of laundry, and the whole thing easy enough to use that the kids won't mind helping out.

A dryer should "dry" your clothes, not burn, tear, or otherwise damage the fabric more than the forced drying process would normally do. This one gets exactly that. When the clothes come out, they are dry but not burning, or statically charged so much that the slightest touch would give you a jolt. Aside of the single button operation, this dryer has a multitude of features that one might not need ordinarily. A number of sensors do the job behind the scenes, for example in the sensor dry mode. Steam is a great feature, that actually comes in handy and is very useful. Until experimenting with it, one does not appreciate how useful it is. Such is the internal lighting, until you find yourself looking for a flashlight to see if that missing sock is stuck in the dryer somewhere. Durability remains to be seen. Energy Star eligibility would have been great, but using gas over electric for heating already makes up for it at current levels in my area.

I really love this dryer. Lot quicker in drying time than my old GE. The price on this dryer is 100 more for gas and thats with every brand. Samsung price is more reasonable than the competitors. Its really bad that Samsung brand is getting a bad rap right now.

I am very pleased with my new dryer. I have the platinum set and I find myself purposely staring at it like every chance I get. It is so beautiful and shiny. I invited my friends and neighbors to have a look at it and they agreed that it is a nice set. I was impressed with the quality and durability of the dryer. I had my last set before for 8 years.
