Easy to install works well

I bought this a couple of months ago and am quite pleased. The installation was easy. The unit cools well and is significantly quieter than non-inverter AC units. Not as quiet as a mini-split but good enough I even use the app to control the unit on occasion. I like seeing the power usage in the app. Would buy again.

I bought this unit over a year ago and Im impressed with how well it can cool my 1600 sq. ft. home. My only complaint is that the base of the unit rusted within the first week of owning it. Ive since removed the rubber drain plug from it but it now drips rusty water onto my pathway leaving an orange stain.

Quality air conditioner

We bought this unit to help cool the second floor of our home after our central air conditioning died. It performed well although it took some fans to propel the air to desired locations. I got this LG because we had other LG appliances and I was hoping it could also be controlled or monitored from my phone however since we dont have 2.4GHz WiFi in our house I was unable to configure it successfully that way. The energy saver setting allowed a surprising amount of leeway from the set temperature and the setting to simply keep the air dry didnt seem to help at all so we stopped trying to use that. Installation was not overly complicated although we did have to source some wood plinths to help secure the unit. We just removed the unit from the window for the winter and that was a pretty easy job. Overall it was a decent purchase.

This is my second summer with this unit and it has no issues cooling my 500 sq ft apartment. During the summer months I have this running nearly every day and have not experienced any problems. The ability to control my AC unit through the app is super useful too as I can turn it on/off for my pets when Im away.the machine itself is also super easy to clean and instructions are simple. Just be cognizant that this is a heavy unit

We have been using this AC unit for several months. It was easy to install cranked right up. It seems to be more efficient cooled our area very easily. Much quieter than previous units. It really pulls the humidity out of the air. My electric bill dropped some which I think was due to this AC. If I get another AC unit it will be this unit with inverter technology.

Great AC unit except for a lack of a heat mode

Will there ever be a reverse cycle/heat pump model of this airconditioner? The unit looks amazing and from what I have seen it is a fantastic system the only drawback for me is that it doesnt have a model that can do heating as well as cooling. It shouldnt be to hard to make a reverse cycle model of this but I might be wrong.

This is without a doubt the quietest and most efficient window air conditioner I have ever owned. Powerful and darn near silent. The WIFI connectivity is poor though. It connected readily and easily the first time. But I havent been able to use the WIFI features since I upgraded my bandwidth and speed. It wont re-connect.

Ive had this window AC unit for a year and it had been great so far. I purchased it right before summer started for a room that has been converted and used to be a garage. My girlfriend uses this room to work from home and it is crucial for her to be comfortable here. We are going on our second year with this unit and it survived its second summer without a problem And we live in Texas With record setting temperatures I was not sure how it would hold up but this has been a great purchase and an excellent investment. Just be sure to routinely clean out the filter which isnt a problem because it has a reminder light for that too. This AC unit is so great we even keep it on energy saver and do not break a sweat. Good job LG

I have a 900 Sq ft apartment with the brightest hottest full sun West facing windows with full exposure from 1pm till sunset the hottest time of day bottom floor of a two floor complex. It literally had been able to cool my entire apartment on the Eco setting alone fan speed 3/3. It was beyond a life saver during the hottest times of our past 2022 very hot summer and my electricity bill only was up to $55 dollars or so per month mid late summer since I only have it on briefly for the hottest hours of the day and then turned it off after sunset. It has just been such a blessing. The fan noise it medium but it purely is what it is it cools my apartment well. I actually like the noises it makes it feel nostalgic haha.

Had high hopes didnt deliver.

I have owned the 1517vsm for about 2 years now. At first it seemed to perform well. I cleaned the filter weekly even if the filter light wasnt on. Then over time it seemed like the different fan speeds seemed to slowly all be the same. I get the same output whether I choose F1 F2 or F3. Therefore it doesnt move enough air to cool properly and ices over constantly even if I dont set the temp too low. They said to clean the evaporator which I did and no difference. I then had it professionally done. Its looks really clean and the tech said it was good to go. But still doesnt cool or perform as well as an older much smaller much cheaper unit we have in another bigger room. If the fan speeds were representative of the display it might work better. Too bad as this LG cost a lot and I really wanted to like it.

It really cools a room

I am only on day 4 of owning this unit but I couldnt be happier. Although it is louder than my old Friedrich of a higher btu it cools much more efficiently. Its been over 95 degrees in NYC and theres been no issue cooling my open concept living room dining room and kitchen. I love the thinQ app as well so I can control the a/c and timers from my phone.

I lucked out

I had originally bought another brand of air conditioner which broke twice. The store salesman felt bad for me and suggested this brand instead. Once installed this A/C was much much quieter. It also cooled my living room kitchen and foyer. Its amazing. I called the salesman and told him I owe him a hug.

2 UNITS BOTH GAVE POOR PERFORMANCE

I bought 2 of this same unit both started having problems within a year . One unit when you press the OFF button the control panel goes to a Co mode then when you press OFF again the panel goes to ENERGY SAVER mode press OFF a third time then it will turn off. The second unit I have when in DRY mode the unit runs at HIGH fan speed. The coils on the bottom two rows freeze up but only half way across in COOL mode and DRY mode.

Bought this to cool down my 1300 sq ft living room and this thing has amazed everyone on how quiet and powerful it is. In the past years Ive had 2 portable air conditioners 18000 BTU that couldnt cool down the same space. The dual inverter technology is a game changer because its variable on the power load it doesnt trip my house breaker when it turns the compressor to max cool. Best Window AC ever purchased

This unit is awesome. Our downstairs is approximately 800 square feet. Although this unit is only meant to cool a 450 square foot area It does a fantastic job cooling the entire space. I was not familiar with the dual inverter however I am now a try believer in this technology.

Bought this to replace a very old window model in our house. It definitely takes up less electricity and cools the area right in front of the unit but it ices up on the coils and does not cool the room as efficiently as our old unit.

Extremely Quiet Efficient

I bought the LG14000 btu Inverter air conditioner because its energy star rated advertised to save 25 energy. I love it It is so quiet at times I think its not on. Ive been running it mostly on the economy mode except for some real hot days. It cools our living room/dining area kitchen makes it so comfortable. I havent got our first power bill yet but Im sure itll be lower than from our previous unit Its easy to use has great features such as wifi diagnosis withThin Q. The inverter function keeps it from cycling on off so much which I was told saves energy. This is my first LG appliance but I am very pleased with my purchase

Unit failed several times.

After it was first installed it worked great for about two months and was then repaired under warranty. After install this year the unit had no power and is in process of being repaired. Worked well when it worked.

This air conditioner works so good and I am impressed The dual inverters have saved me nearly 40$ on my electric bill compared to my old dinosaur I replaced with this and that was just the first month It also gets colder than the old r12 unit I replaced. Our air conditioner is by far the best one we have ever owned. We did have a small part on it to break. We contacted LG warranty department and they sent us a replacement part with no charge. We are very happy with our air conditioner and would highly recommend LG products to others.
