Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Poor lint filter design

bosox1 1/31/2019

I am having the same problem that many reviewers on this site are having too. Namely, that behind the secondary filter on the bottom right corner of the machine there is another filter that is unreachable without taking the machine apart. If the machine is not professionally taken apart and cleaned every year( @ $100.00 dollars in my area ) then the machine needs to be run several times to dry the same load of clothes. This of course mitigates any savings you would achieve by its higher efficiency rating. The door to the second filter also has a cheap clasp to keep the door closed during operation. If the door isnt closed the drying times increase. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase just the clasp part from Whirlpool you have to replace the whole door, filter and casing which is expensive. Great idea for a dryer but extremely poor design execution. I would avoid this unit until they work out all of the issues

Awesome energy saver, biggest time waster

MrMitch 12/6/2018

I would give 5 stars for the innovation and energy savings, but I would give it 1 star for the time that is needed to clean the lint from the system due to poor design. That's why I averaged it to 3 stars. Explanations: + Very low energy consumption thanks to the heat pump, and since it does not push any air outside, the cool indoor air does not leave the house in summer, the warm indoor air does not leave the house in winter, plus using this dryer reduces the demand on my baseboard heaters because of the heat that it produces. - Lint is quickly accumulating being the screen and is not reachable in any way. So after the first year of use, I paid roughly 100$ for a technician to come, unmount the entire dryer in piece to be able to access the evaporator to clean them. Now, every year I would need to pay a technician to do that again, or learn to do it myself. Without doing this yearly of the evaporator, drying time can almost double. So costly yearly deep cleanings and weekly cleanings of the hybrid care filter sums up to many hours of time every year.

Care points

Cumulonimbus 11/25/2018

I've owned one of these units since 2015. I love the dryer overall--like that it's gentle on my clothes and that it saves on energy costs. I don't mind the somewhat longer drying times and the extra filter to clean out. However, over the last year, the unit started taking longer drying times and getting the clothes less dry. The first thing to check is a little fan vent on the back of the unit--vacuuming it off can solve this problem. However, my problem was lint accumulated in the cabinet itself. Like any other dryer, this one should be serviced annually to remove the accumulated lint. If you don't, you'll probably see big increases in drying times, because the heat pump condenser operation is slowed by all the lint around it insulating it. The back fan is intended to allow the condenser to cool, but if the condenser itself is covered with lint, the fan does little good. So, either get it serviced, or if you are handy, find the youtube instruction videos and clean it out yourself. Sometimes lint can also build up behind the screen behind the extra filter on the unit's lower right. That's really difficult to get to, but I cleaned it out by shooting water from a kid's water gun through the screen. My filter cartridge plastic warped over time (allowing some lint to get by), and it's difficult to find a replacement part specifically for it (whilrpool parts provides it with the whole casing unit in which the filter fits, but that's more than $80). If they are reading this, they, I'm asking that they provide this replacement option.

Creates Humidity Problem / Lint Trap Design Flaw

jsflewel 11/7/2018

I loved the idea of this dryer, but frankly, I am now regretting purchasing it. The efficiency was a major plus, but in the summer, with high humidity levels, this dryer leaves our work out clothes smelling musty. It also now looks like the higher humidity problems created a mold situation in our laundry room. In addition, the cleanout trap (bottom right front panel see photo) has a design flaw in my opinion. While we routinely pull out the unit as directed to remove lint, and clean off the back screen, we have noticed lint on a second screen which is located about one inch behind the initial screen. There is no way to access this second screen unless a technician takes the machine apart. This second screen appears to be covered in lint and I am sure is creating a problem. See photo. Seems like a design flaw to me.

Review Follow up

gettayl 11/4/2018

My previous review stated how dissatisfied I am with this dryer. I never had a problem with dry time, I understood that a ventless dryer would take longer. My concern is the constant error messages and inability of Sears to fix it. We've been without the dryer for almost two months. Sears canceled one service call and now states that the parts are back-ordered. Whirlpool asked me for my phone number last week as a result of my poor review but I haven't heard from them. Whirlpool, stand by your product and provide a resolution to this issue!

Constant Error Messages - 15 repair calls, 3 years

stetay 10/27/2018

We built a high performance home and needed a ventless dryer to reduce heat loss. This dryer fails approximately every 6 weeks or so with F9, E1 error codes. The washer and dryer were purchased from Sears and luckily we purchased a protection plan. The service people come out, replace the pump and hose and comment on the poor design that allows lint to accumlate inside the machine and in the pump that becomes easily clogged. We clean the lint collector after every load and vacuum the additional lint collector on the bottom right of the machine to no avail. We have been unsuccessful in getting anyone to address these issues besides the constant service calls. Each breakdown results in loss of dryer capability for days or weeks at a time as we wait for Sears to reorder parts. Each service call requires the loss of a day of work. I cannot recommend this machine and wonder why the technology exists in Europe with manufactures such as AEG but American manufacturers can't get this technology right. In the meantime, as the machine is broken yet again, I'm hanging my clothes to dry and will be taking yet another day off from work on Thursday for the service people to come out. I'd love to hear directly from someone at Whirlpool with a resolution to this problem.

Dryer -takes too long

Vermont Mom 10/11/2018

I have had this dryer for 2 years. We built a passive house, no vents. But now after struggling for 2 years I am venting an electric dryer ! The reality is it takes 3 hours for normal loads. Towels ? 3+ hours, Jeans and Cotton tees ? 2.5 hours. For this family of 5 I am done trying to make it work. I love whirlpool but HATE this dryer !

Great buy !

Grannah H 7/14/2018

Always bought Whirlpool appliances, recently went to ventless dryer. I live in a mobile home and since you didn't have to have flex hose for the ventless dryer it takes less room. I am totally pleased with this dryer it might take a few minutes more but I noticed that my clothes dry softer and less wrinkled. Only thing I miss is a light in the dryer.

Well designed but for specific uses

Marty-- 4/9/2018

We cannot vent our dryer so took a chance on exploring ventless machines that apparently have been extremely widespread in Europe for years. Chose the Whirlpool and am basically happy but it does seem to take extra time to get clothes super dry - depending on how stuffed you make the drum. I accept the humidity and heat as the machine is designed as a heat pump which concept should be understood by the buyer before purchasing. If so, comments of heat and humidity in the laundry room become baseless. Noise level seems to be equal to regular vented machines and yes, cleaning the three filter areas are mildly cumbersome but they support the efficiency of concept of being ventless so accept it as part of the equation or buy something else!

poor design, does not perform after 2 years of use

carmic74 2/20/2018

We bought this dryer when it first came on the market two years ago. It dried pretty well the first year. Drying times were longer, but clothes were dry. Two years later, a rarely get a load dry on one cycle, it often takes two sometimes three runs to get clothes dry. So much for energy efficiency!! All the lint filters are impossible to keep clean. Very poorly designed. There is a lint screen over the coils behind the pull out box filter at the bottom. This gets filled with lint and is nearly impossible to keep clean. I stand on my head and use compressed air every 4th run to keep it clean. The insert filter has to been washed every two loads for it to work properly. The thing is about to fall apart. I'm going to see if I can order a replacement. It is also EXTREMELY loud. I hope the design has improved over the last two years, but overall I'm very, very disappointed with this dryer.

Love the waste heat and humidity

high and dry 1/21/2018

I bought this dryer precisely because all waste heat and some waste humidity stay indoors. In this cool desert climate the indoor extra heat and humidity are welcome year round. Almost all moisture extracted from the wet laundry does go down the drain, not into the indoor air. The drain can feed into a greywater recycling system, another plus for desert dwellers. The previous dryer, conventionally vented outside, also vented all the indoor heat and humidity to the outside. This dryer will pay for itself in a few years just by lowering the heating bill. I have had this dryer 14 months, 300 loads of laundry dried, and no complaints until today. Today the drum stopped turning (why 4 not 5 stars) in the middle of a load; I used the Whirlpool website to schedule a service call with a local repair business. It was very easy, no account creation required. The business has 5 star reviews on local social media.

Excellent clothes dryer

Equinox House 11/16/2017

I purchased the Whirlpool heat pump clothes dryer two years ago when it was first available, and am very pleased with its performance. Clothes drying quality is excellent. Clothes are perfectly dried and fluffly. They are not over dried, nor under dried. Drying cycle time is reasonable and matches wash cycle time nicely (we have matching Whirlpool front loading washer.....high spin speed reduces retained moisture). We have no moisture difficulties in the laundry room. Moisture buildup in a laundry room (or any room) is due to poor house ventilation and most likely indicates poor air quality, too (carbon dioxide and VOCs).

Creates major humidity in utility room

b-lilja 11/9/2017

I like this dryer except that it creates major humidity in the area around it - I measured it and it increased the humidity from 50% to 70%. That is unacceptable and potentially creates long term issues of mold within the house. I have read a couple of other reviews expressing similar problems. We had a Whirlpool technician out to address the problem, and they said it was normal. Calling Whirlpool customer service, the only resolution they offered was another service call. When that requires time off work, this starts to be a major inconvenience.

Challenging and Difficult to Get Service

DIG 2/6/2017

We have used the dryer with limited success for under a year. Then the motor died and it would no longer move the drum. We requested service and it took over a month to get a motor shipped and replaced. Spending a couple hundred dollars at the laundry mat during that time.We finally get the motor replaced and now we are seeing dry times of 2 hours and longer. We have adjusted drying types, timed drying, modifying load sizes and extra spin cycle for the clothes washer. Now were are waiting for additional service to take place...

Love it

1/21/2017

We have been using our dryer now for about a month. Living in a condo we could not vent through the wall to the outside as we would not be allowed to put holes in outside walls. Also in Florida one must be concerned about openings because of risk of hurricane damage which precluded venting out a window. Drying times and efficiency are remarkably good with this dryer. I don't feel there has been any loss in either by going ventless.

Exactly what we needed!

11/2/2016

We have our new ventless dryer for almost a month now and LOVE it! It solves a venting issue for our home, and has been the perfect solution. Standard vent dryers were taking 2+ hour for a load of clothes to dry, but with the ventless dryer we are averaging 30-45 minutes. We could not be happier, and hope the technology stays around forever!

Worst dryer ever purchased

9/5/2016

Do not waste your time or money. I wish I knew then what I know now. We bought this dryer because we were building a new laundry room on our second floor and did not have a dryer vent, we thought this would be good because they are more energy efficient. We should have put a vent in the wall. The unit takes over two hours to dry a load of white wash and it heats the room it in by over 10 degrees. The units has only been used since the beginning of May and we will be getting rid of it

Generally overall satisfied

CLK 8/7/2016

We knew going in that the filters quality were poor, but needed the ventless option for our laundry room. Indeed the filters are fragile and our hybrid care filter already has a hole in it. The hole if from poor quality construction and oversight. We had our dryer delivered on 7/5/16 so less than a month. They were more than glad to send us another the the communication with customer service was not an issue. As I wrote on the customer service FB page, this kind of issue is unacceptable, a good engineer would have known that the design was bad. The approach to cheaper is not better and frankly in a company as old and well known as Whirlpool, totally unacceptable in my opinion. Also the buttons on the front of the dryer are extremely sensitive and even with minimal contact will change the settings. Several times I have brushed the front with my clothes and that has turned the dryer off.As far as function we have had no issue, the clothes are not waded and tumbled in a ball and come out relatively wrinkle free if you use the wrinkle prevent setting. Even heavier items like towels and sheets dry at the end of the cycle. We have had some problem with the sensor sensing lighter weight items like underwear being dry before sock or undershirts in the same load, but it will have us trained soon I am sure.It does produce more heat than our previous dryer, but we run the fan in the laundry room and leave a window open in the adjoining room and have not been unduly troubled even on 90 degree days.Yes I would do it again and would have given them 5 stars but for the filter and wondering if there is some other dumb designer issue hiding somewhere.

Lives up to it's name...like a Whirlpool Should

7/21/2016

We did a lot of research on finding a solution to our venting issues. We own a townhouse and our laundry is located on the 2nd floor. The way the architecture of the original vent pipe was laid out was poorly engineered. From the back of our old dryer it too an immediate 90 degree bend; traveled for 4 ft. along the floor line; another 90 degree bend upwards; the pipe traveled approx. 20 ft. straight up through the ceiling into the attic and out the roofline. The vent less dryer sold our issues and is extremely energy efficient.

IXD 7/12/2016

We've had the dryer about 2 months now and I am very happy with it. It does a great job and it quiet. The only thing that seems a little weird is the hybrid care filter - I've never had to clean a filter every 5 cycles. But even this is very easy and no issue at all - takes 2 min.

Seems very good, except for vent in the back.

6/28/2016

We've just hooked it up, so I don't know how the heat pump will affect our electric bill. But so far the drying seems excellent. The only problem I foresee is the vent in the back that has to be cleaned at intervals. It seems an idiotic place to put something one needs to get at. The machine has to be pulled out from the wall to reach it. I'm not strong enough to do that, so will have to ask for help. (I'm told if I put the dryer on any sort of pedestal that will move, I void the warranty, so that's not an option.) I'm perplexed: how can such a smartly engineered machine -- an advance in dryer engineering -- have a vent that has to be cleaned in a spot that's nearly impossible to get to?

Great new technology

6/18/2016

Overall, a very solid 4 star. Two things prevent me from rating it a 5; the dryer is noisier than a traditional dryer and it takes longer to dry compared to a properly vented traditional dryer. Aside from that, this is an excellent machine. As for the noise level, while not substantially louder than a typical dryer it does make a bit more noise and the sound is higher pitched than what you typically associate with a dryer. As for the longer dryer times, this is something the manual said was normal with the heat-pump dryer, however, I would have preferred something that dries a bit quicker. Having said that, it still dries quicker than my old dryer did due to the poor venting design in my house. Now to the good; the heat pump technology works great and uses considerably less energy than a traditional dryer. While it still requires a 30 amp plug, the rating plate lists it at only using 14 amps compared to 28 amps listed on my old dryer. I have yet to receive an electric bill since using this unit, but the lower amp rating alone tells me it's much more efficient. The controls are very intuitive; you simply select a cycle, adjust the dryness level and start it. It has both automatic sensing cycles as well as manually timed cycles. I've found the sensing cycles work perfectly. When done, clothes come out fluffy and dry. The drum is stainless steel and has an led light which gives the interior a nice, upscale look. Also, it has a large 7.3 cubic foot drum which is nearly the same size as a typical dryer. Overall, I am very impressed with this dryer and hope it bodes well for the future of heat pump technology in dryers. In short, if you live in a place that has poor venting for your dryer(mine piped the exhaust up 2 stories and through the roof) or you can't vent a dryer at all, THIS IS THE DRYER FOR YOU! Also, if you are energy conscious; this is a much more efficient dryer than a traditional vented model as well as the condensing vent less dryers.

A life saver!

ecowifey 6/17/2016

I bought this dryer a couple of months ago, and it has made our laundry days sooo much easier and convenient! For starters, I love the fact that this dryer is eco-friendly and very efficient. I live in a condominium where we have to share dryer and washer with the rest of the residents, which makes it extremely uncomfortable to do laundry, especially when other people are taking your clothes out of the dryer as soon as the cycle ends. This dryer is now in my utility closet IN my apartment, which solves that problem. The best part about this setup, is the fact that the dryer is ventless, and therefore can be placed anywhere you have an electrical outlet for your dryer. Before starting the dryer cycle, the only thing I have to do is put the small condensation hose in a basin on top of the dryer, so the extra water generated from the heat just pours into the basin, and then I dump it out in my kitchen sink. The clothes come out warm and dried just right, and I love that this dryer has sensing technology, so it does not overdry your clothes, thus preventing damage to the fibers. I'm in love with my new dryer!

Great Ventless Dryer

6/15/2016

I just purchased this dryer along with a Duet washer. I just love the set. The ventless dryer was installed in the basement of my condo. Rules make it very difficult to get permission to vent outdoors thru an exterior wall. This dryer is a dream come true. The options are very clear & the drying time slightly longer than my old dryer but a full load of heavy towels dried in about 60 minutes. The lent traps (2) are easy to open & clean. The drain is hooked up to the same drain pipe as the washer..perfect! Expensive, but perfect!

Excited that it is ventless!

6/12/2016

I have had the ventless dryer for 3 weeks. Over all I'm happy with the dryer with the exception of the lent trap doesn't fit flush and clothes tend to get caught.

I bough this dryer about a month ago and am very happy with it. The dryer is in the basement with no vent to outside. I have a cleaner basement and much less humidity.

There is at least one improvement opportunity.

6/4/2016

While cleaning the dryer filter, one side of the plastic spring loaded secondary filter broke. I ordered a replacement and broke that while attempting to replace it.

Quick drying time

Lake Bum 5/24/2016

We have only had the dryer for a short time, but I am very happy with it. I clean out the filter during the drying cycle if I have a full load of towels, and the drying time is shorter than it was with our old dryer. We have it in a closet and I do recommend leaving the doors open so the heat is not building up. It is insignificantly louder than my old dryer but totally acceptable.

"Ventless" Dryer

5/21/2016

Wasn't sure if I was going to like a ventless dryer, but I'm definitely loving it! It runs much cleaner then the dryers I've used in the past.

Love the new technology

hyacinth 5/6/2016

We bought this a little over a month ago and we have been pleased with its performance from day one. It is quiet and we love not having all the heat generated by conventional dryers. It works well. Our only complaint is that the door to the bottom filter does not want to shut. That is a minor issue but one that gets on my nerves. Overall the dryer works up to our expectations during this first month which is a small sample. We look forward to years of good performance because is was quite expensive. There is something to be said for the piece of mind of avoiding lint fires in the vents of conventional dryers.

Doubted my old propane drier for this one to take advantage of my solar credits built up.So far excellent results.Took advantage of Efficiency Vt's outstanding rebate program, combined with a heavy discount made this an obvious choice.Product has performed very well so far.

What I wanted

4/9/2016

I live in a condo that does not allow external vents so the dryer exhaust comes into the condo. I tried many filters that did not work so I had lint all over the condo. This dryer works very well and I am very pleased. Recommended it to the other condo owners. None of us were aware that this existed. I can breathe better and the condo is cleaner.

All positive so far!

3/21/2016

Love the look, the controls, the drum is so large! The clothes come out wrinkle free even when I don't get to them at the end of the cycle. But mostly, I'm looking forward to the energy savings! The installers were very nice, efficient. Came on a day when the roads were icy and they had to skate into the drive! Thanks guys!

Really glad I bought this

3/20/2016

I've had this ventless dryer for three months. Live in a condo where safe dryer venting is not possible. I've had no problems at all with the dryer, it works beautifully and while it does put out some heat it's minimal and no humidity. Biggest thing to adapt to is the sound while operating, I close the door to the utility room and barely hear it.

Good Technology, Questionable Execution

Coloradoan 3/12/2016

We've had the dryer for two months now. It worked as advertised until a couple of weeks ago. Drying started taking even longer, and water started leaking out of the dryer onto the floor and the drain pipe has been dry since. The repairman came out, but had never seen this type of dryer before, so he just changed the leveling so the water would flow to the back of the dryer, toward the pump. No difference. He also performed a diagnostic, which came back with no errors. He came back a second time, took everything apart and put it back together again. Now it makes less noise when running, but water still leaks out of it and the drain pipe is dry. He said he will call Whirlpool for advice, and that is where we are now. My concern is that all that moisture that is supposed to drain out the drain pipe is basically just being vented inside the dryer, leaking out where it can. I think it's even screwed up the electronics because the control panel beeps, makes random noises, even when a load isn't running. We suspect it's probably a bad condenser/evaporator that is causing the water to leak and steam into the unit, but since the repairman is unfamiliar with the unit, he can't tell what the problem is. Our concern now is that even if it's repaired, the electronics are screwed up and will eventually fail - probably after the warranty is over. All because the unit could not be repaired in a timely manner. Only time will tell, but we still have a dryer that is not fully functional after a week of repairs, with no solution in sight.
