I purchased to replace my over the range microwave, I'm glad I got it but it wasn't as easy to install as I was led to believe. The vent openings were very difficult to remove with out bending the hood around it.I kind of wish they would have modernized the buttons on it as well.It works well and the fan at full speed is much quieter than any over the range microwave on the market.I'm happy with it except for the buttons.

I installed myself, easy, but had a hard time finding a 7 inch exhaust pipe. Lowe's didn't carry one, had to go to Home Depot.

I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone. Repair man has been to house twice to fix light in brand new range hood and the wrong part has been ordered wrong, not once , twice, but three times. Repairman says the problem is Whirlpool sending wrong part. They say it happens often.

We bought our new stove hood about a year ago and it has proven to be one of the best we have ever had in our homes. It is extremely quiet and very efficient at removing the smoke and smell from our broiling and frying. I would definitely recommend this product.

We have had a couple of hoods before, by Nutone & Broan(made by Nutone) and this hood is far better. Best air flow and quietest hood in the market for that type of mounting. The lighting is bright and floods the stove top. Good price/value

This product is easily damaged somewhere after the packaging. It may even occur in the Whirlpool warehouse. The package design may not be sufficient. I received three damaged units; the fourth one was good.The screw to remove the filter is very different and two savvy people were unable to solve the mystery. Whirlpool had to send a technician out to remove the screw. A tool for this screw should be included. At the very least, the type and size of needed tool should be stated in the manual.The day to day working is good and this family is pleased. The hood lights really illuminate the stove top. The surfaces are smooth with no nooks or crannies so routine cleaning is easy.
