We built a new home and purchased all Maytag appliances, because of the reputation for dependability, even though they were more expensive than comparable Whirlpool models. After 1 1/2 months in service the refrigerator started alarming without any error code displayed. Eventually, it started to alarm with a power outage displayed. After multiple service calls with 2 different service companies, 7 boards, a wiring harness and a fan motor being replaced, and alarms sounding night and day for 2 months, the refrig has been replaced. When talking with Whirlpool/Maytag about replacement, they offered to replace it with a Whirlpool model, since this Maytag model refrig is not in production. luckily, our local dealer had the Maytag model in stock, so I still have matching appliances. I really like the features on the refrig and hope the new refrig stands the test of time.

We purchased all new appliances in early 2017, the performance of the ice maker and assembly quality the led to the removal and replacement of the refrigerator.The second refrigerator required the replacement of the main board after approximately a 1 1/2 years. The replacement of the board does not address the performance of the ice maker (clumping of ice in a week). The price of this product (Maytag) is not reflected in the performance.

love middle drawer

I bought this oct 2016. Will be calling for a repair man for the 3rd problem. I have 5 year warranty thank goodness. The freezer drawer always makes loud noise when pulled in and out. very hard to push in. Last repair was big chunk ice behind drawer. today ice maker quit and top part not cold. middle drawer and freezer working. I will never buy a expensive fridg again. bought smaller fridg for garage same time and no problems whatsoever with it.

Problem with Interior Lights

We bought this refrigerator as an upgrade to our new condo a little over a year ago. Not too long ago the interior lights started going out. To reset we need to shut power off to the fridge for 15 minutes then reapply power. I am resetting today for about the 10th time in 3 months. A call in to the local dealer who supplied the fridge indicated there is a service bulletin out from Whirlpool for this issue but that it does not cover my serial number so they will only come to look on a paid service call. This is a very expensive fridge and should not have issues like this that the manufacturer won't resolve.

Came missing a handle

Simple, yet elegant and functional - a rare combo!

Our new refrigerator was delivered at the beginning of November 2018. My family and I couldn't be happier! Our other fridge was a name brand appliance that started with "S" and we had nothing but problems with it for the 5-years we owned it. This one has been solid, it's definitely built sturdy and feels well made. The finger print resistant stainless coating is awesome! It does need cleaning occasionally if you have little ones like we do - but it stays very presentable 90% of the time. I love the easy pull out crisper drawers, and the customizable middle pullout for meat, veggies, wine, etc. The lighting is amazing - you can actually see every square inch of the inside, no more finding moldy surprises in the back corner because you forgot something was there. The water / ice dispenser has worked flawlessly, the filter although expensive, works great and is easy to replace. I'll definitely buy Maytag again - it was a bit speedy, but worth every penny.

Ice maker is displaying error code E2 = Motor Lost position. This code means Ice maker Assembly is defective. Warranty is for 1year so this would not be covered. This is the second issue we've had with this unit. The first issue was water filter wouldn't reset and took them 3 service calls to get it fixed. That was covered under 1yr warranty. Maytag isn't what it once was.

Problems with this Refrigerator since installation

Bought this Refrigerator a few months back and had it installed Nov. 2018. First few days since installation the refrigerator part was not cooling, called service right away and had to wait 7 days for a service guy and then another 5 days for the guy to come back with a part to repair the brand new out of the box refrigerator. Lost all my food at my cost. Now today Jan. 2019 Refrigerator is freezing all my refrigerator food, called service and they stated again that it will be 7 days before they send service. I bought a maytag due to the thinking that first they don't break down and that the service was good, but Maytag is not the same company as they used to be and I would not recommend this refrigerator.

We bought the refrigerator as part of a complete kitchen remodel about a month ago. Couldn't be more pleased! If you can afford it, spend a little more and get Maytag appliances. They are so quiet, stylish and have great features. This fridge is massive. We moved all of our stuff from our old side by side fridge into this one and had room to spare! It has this cute little section at the bottom of the main fridge compartment that we honestly havnt has time to see what it's designed for, but I've used it to hold cheese and cream cheese boxes. The compartments are well lit. I love the extra drawer and the bottom fridge. The real test of time will be the ice maker. That's the one thing that always seems to go out first and usually pretty quickly. I'm hoping this one is different. The shelving and drawers in the main fridge compartment are excellent quality. They glide so smoothly!!!! Might be my favorite feature so far. The freezer holds more than you would think and the pizza box compartment is really useful. So far super pleased. Looks great, is quiet and holds so much food! we love it and think you will too!

FAILED AFTER 1 YR + LOUSY SERVICE

I bought this model in July 2017. The compressor failed in Nov 2018. When I called Maytag Svc they claimed they had no record of my purchase so would not honor the 10 year warranty which might cost me $1500. Then they scheduled a service call for 12 DAYS LATER. Thank goodness I had a 5 year protection plan from Lowes! Lowes scheduled a service call but it took 3 repair visits and ONE MONTH to fix this fridge. I had to buy a compact fridge for $200 to store food for a month because of my broken $3,000 Maytag. I'm writing this on Nov 20. The Maytag is still broken. It will not be fixed until Nov 29. And yes, I'm really angry about this.

Third time's the charm.

A little over a year ago, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator. After a few days, the internal lights stopped working. After several attempts from the repair men, we were told that it could not be repaired but we would receive a new one. Whirlpool no longer sold the model we had, so we were offered a Maytag with the same features. We really enjoyed the Maytag for almost a year when the lights went out. Again, it could not be fixed and we received the second Maytag. One would think that we would give Maytag a low rating after all this inconvenience, and there was inconvenience, but we really like the refrigerator, and we really appreciate the repairmen and the delivery people. They were always so nice and professional. The contact people on the phone were very apologetic and supportive to our problems. I don't know if I'll feell so positive if it happens again, but at this point. I love my refrigerator!

I really love that this refrigerator has the middle drawer. We use it quite frequently. Wasn't sure how I would like the freezer on the bottom but it actually works really well. The only problems I have is the ice maker does not keep up for more then 2 people even if it is on fast ice and the vegetable drawers need a controlled crisper temperature.

I purchased this fridge about a month ago and I love how it looks in my kitchen . The only issues I had is that the sliding shelve was very hard to slide, also one of the doors did not lign up with the other. But Lowe's is great they sent me a new one and the doors lign up correctly and the sliding shelve was easy to slide back and forth but the shelf was lower on one side and Lowe's ordered me a new sliding shelf. The sounds that some complained about are not an issue because of the location of the fridge in my kitchen. I love it and it's nice and roomy.

I got this a month ago, The first night I got it. Water filter was leaking water. Wizard Appliance came worked on it. ordered a new filter holder. He came in next time put it in. He also put some calking under the freezer draw. It was frosting up under it. It is better. But, still have ice at the edge of the freezer draw. He order a ice container, It was not crushing the ice. He will be here the 10th to put it in and bring me a new water filter. It drips a little water when you open up the holder.

I bought one of these for my remodel to sell my old house and fell in love with it. When I moved - I bought another one! The indoor ice & water dispenser have worked flawlessly. The freezer storage room is more than adequate, not having to get down on one knee is so easy. It even has a pizza slot that holds two! The ice maker makes more than enough for two people. The inside storage area still has room to fill up. The middle drawer that I thought was foo-foo is not. It helps to organize your food so much. The noise level has been very low. It makes its own little noises cause it is making ice cubes but nothing to complain about. The compressor has a 10 year warranty. I recommend this fridge highly.

The separate drawer sold us on this refrigerator and I'm glad. I knew I had to have another bottom freezer and a Maytag as the last one never had any problems (we left it with the house when we sold). Water Filter Reset

We've only had this refrigerator for 6months and We really like the refrigerators appearance, plus the additional storage drawer. The reason for not being a 5 star is we've replaced the water filter twice and the replace water filter still shows 0%. The manual says that the filter replace light will go out once new filter is detected. I've even had a Maytag repair guy try to reset with no success.

Bad Compressor, Display fault

I am having this refrigerator since one month now. My freezer and display is not working since I got the delivery. I have been contacting whirlpool since a month now and still I did not get any solution on my problem. I am going through very hard time without the freezer and I have explain this to whirlpool so many times but still till this date there is no solution. Until now they have sent three technician to my home and they are doing nothing but just submitting their report. I would not recommend this product and whirlpool to anybody. I have not expect that poor service from whirlpool.

Loved....this fridge....until now

Purchased this fridge 3/15. Loved all the features until 2/18. Noticed sour milk, molded cheese, Ice Maker quit. Tried to turn temperature settings up. Should have called repairman sooner, but fridge was still working somewhat! 3 year warranty went out 3/18. Called repairman and fridge has a slow leak in the compressor. Warranty will be prorated due to warranty being out for 1 month. Have to wait for 3-5 business days for return call. Don't have a fridge and can't go buy one until I heard back from Maytag Specialist. Sure hope it's soon! Love all my 6 Maytag appliances. Have been a Maytag fan for over 40 years!

Issues from the beginning.....

Bought in black and installed Nov 2016. Great features...love the room and the extra external door. Great for fruit and those "in demand" snacks. Troubles began within 3 months though. First, the freezer compartment fan began rattling and making noise. Service determined was not installed properly at factory. 6 months later, ice maker stopped and freezer no longer freezing. Service found pin hole leak in refrigerant / compressor system. 6 months later, ice maker stopped and freezer no longer freezing....compressor and "mother board" replaced. Few months later, no ice again...service found low refrigerant level, but no leak. Now, ice maker overflows...Service has declared "lemon" and is offering to replace under extended warranty, but model in no longer offered in black. No sure I can recommend this product in good conscious. Looks great, lots of space, but mechanically I received the worst one out of the production run. Quality control definitely missed this one.

I love this wonderful appliance. I am amazed at the amount of room not only in the refrigerator part but also in the freezer. The design allows for maximum storage in the freezer and the multiple sections make it easy to organize. The center drawer is really a great feature as well.
