Door hinges are designed poorly, it will break

Have had this refrigerator for about five years and have to replace the door for the second time (meaning this will be my 3rd door!). There is no reinforcement on the hinges, the door weight is actually on the plastic housing, it is a terrible design! I had to pay $500+ for my first replacement door and have not stored milk or anything heavy in the door, yet two years later it has failed again.

We purchased this fridge about 6 weeks ago and it has been working flawlessly. Much quieter than our 1990 model we had previously. It came with the ice making and water dispenser function but we did not hook up that feature since neither one of us would use that on a daily basis. The inside is well lit with led lighting and the shelves are well laid out. It has many large bins on the doors and these hold many items, such as milk, ketchup, and other condiments. All in all this was a very good purchase and for a good price since it was last years model. Would recommend this fridge highly.

I purchased this unit, and had it delivered on a Thursday night. Friday morning it was inoperable. I noticed it was turning on and off (power). I called the dealer and they ordered me a new unit. It was delivered the next week. It was unboxed, unwrapped, and installed. When we tried to run water through the system, there was a cascade inside. It turns out there was a broken water line from the rear, leading into the filter housing. I just got that fixed. Needless to say, in not real happy with Maytag. These units were both new, so it had to be manufacturer defect.

The French door is a better fit in the space in our kitchen then the side by side we had. The unit seems to function well to this point. I would have given it 5 stars but the unit is not as quiet as the side by side it replaced. The storage and features more than off set that small issue.

I bought this 2 months ago, because of my size opening I still hade to remove my cupboard above and replace it with a 12x36 and I love having the freezer on the bottom, going from a side by side whirlpool that lasted 14 years and was still running perfectly, but I wish they had made the shelves adjustable we have to put all of our bottles and jars that are too tall on their side ketchup etc. I bought this on whirlpool outlets web site and I did save some$ but 2 weeks later the price dropped even more and they would not refund the difference!

Had troubles with the fridge from first day.

The first day they brought the fridge out we were not done unloading it all the way. So we just put things on the counter tops and table. I really didn't have time to read the book and the only instructions I was given were not to turn up the temperature only one click every 24 hours. As soon as they installed it we ran about 7 glasses of water through the door and threw out seven trays of ice. I turned the temp up to 4 and left it on that setting overnight. The next day later in the afternoon I noticed the fridge was calling for ice but not producing it, also no water through the door. So I called the store where I purchased it and they sent someone out. He tried to get it to work and couldn't. He said he would have to order new parts and be back in 4 or 5 days. When he returned he removed parts from the back and the ice maker it still wouldn't work. He had me empty most of the food out and took out all the drawers and pulled out the bladder which was frozen solid not allowing water to come through. The only explaination they could come up with is the fact that I had turned up the temp to 4 for that first day. I turned the temp back down the next morning because by then I had read the book. Trying to figure out why it wasn't working. I love Maytag products and never purchase any other appliances. So at this time I am not real sure how I feel about my experience with it. I will however still purchase Maytag.

Storage of milk /large cartons or bulky items not so good. When pushing back the middle shelf u loose space. Overall not impressed but will live with it ! Difficult to arrange for what ever reason

We have had the fridge for a couple months now and really like the water in the door feature other than the water could be colder. Compared to our last fridge, a Kitchen Aid, that we had for 18 years I find the fruit and veggie drawers a little flimsy.

We purchased this refrigerator in May and generally we like it. There is an issue with the refrigerator that we noticed. Three times in the last couple of months an ice cube fell down between the freezer door and the frame at the base of the refrigerator and the freezer door didn?t close. The display on the door showed all doors closed. The next day when we went to get something out of the freezer everything was covered in frost. That is how we knew something was wrong. Knowing that this happened we kept watching and we found an ice cube between the freezer door and frame two more times. When our grandkids get ice we have to caution them to be careful and make sure that they do not drop any cubes. The display showing the doors closed needs to be set up to show the doors open if the door doesn?t close all of the way. I don?t know if this is happening to other refrigerators or that mine is the only one. I did expect that the water dispenser would dispense cold water but after only one glass it is warm. I would think that a larger reservoir would be installed to get at least three glasses of cold water. I would rate this refrigerator 4 star.
