Our refrigerator is just two years old and after the first year it started leaking. Also the door was rusting after just a couple of month. We are extremely upset because we paid almost $1600. It is extremely disappointing. The warranty didn?t cover the rusting what I am still amazed. We fixed the leak six month ago and it is leaking again.

Purchased this refrigerator because we planned to live off grid and I wanted a freezer on the bottom.It is environmentally friendly, however I was disappointed in the Quality of the interior features. For the price I paidI expected better.

Had the fridge for almost a year. Noticed within a few days that it was a LOT noisier than our old top freezer unit. It has become noisier and noisier. I can hear the unit from upstairs. Unacceptable.

Regret Maytag Purchase: freezes up every ~3 months

I purchased this refrigerator in 2010 and for the first year it worked fine (it was under warranty). After that, it has been freezing up (freezer very cold, fridge compartment warm) every 3-6 months. This requires a full defrost of the unit which leaks a lot of water onto the floor since the drip pan is not accessible to empty. The first time it we thought we had removed all the water but unknown to us it was still leaking and ruined a section of the hardwood flooring it was on. After that, I actually was forced to purchased a washing machine pan to put the fridge in every time I need to defrost it. (And getting the fridge into the pan is NOT easy but it does save my floors.) For $1200+ this is not what I expected. Diagnostic showed that the defrost thermostat is fine. The service people said that they can add a always running fan which would ruin it's energy efficiency. I purchased it for it's energy efficiency but the cost of repeated wasted food and the energy of defrosting it and re-cooling the unit I am sure have negated any energy efficiency it had.

The pluses -- excellent ice maker, very quiet overall operation. The produce bins are a little small and they don't pull out all the way unless you pull them off the track. The freezer has a bar in the middle which prevents putting a large pizza in it. Otherwise, it works well.

I have had my new frig for a couple of months now and it works well. I had a bottom freezer similar to this before but it was white and rusted. I like the stainless and have had no problems with it. The only thing that may cause a problem in the future is that it seems to require tools to move it as the wheels will not move.

Since i've had it I've not had anything freeze in the fridge....a constant problem in my old one. it is huge and holds everything now. not only that but it is pretty. It has met all of our expectations. Keeps the food cold, freezer pumps out ice cubes like crazy. Plenty of options for adjusting shelves. I did order another bucket for the door to have extra storage, really needed one more. My only complaint was leveling it. The door was swinging into the wall, if you did not hold it. No matter what I did, could not resolve until I lowered the right front, raised the left front and shimmed the left rear. The fridge had no means to level from the rear. Shimming with a wood block seems like a design change might be in order.

Just moved into my new kitchen and totally LOVE this refrigerator. Wasn't so sure I would like the bottom freezer but after 1 day I knew I'd made the right choice. Having the upper part the fridge, it is so easy to see and get things out for prepare. Everything is eye level. It is roomy and very user friendly.

I knew I wanted a bottom freezer-refrigerator so that was an easy choice for me. Maytag has a wonderful history of great appliances so that made my choice even easier! I have had my appliance since December 2013 and I have no complaints. I love the wide space in the doors to hold tall bottles and milk gallons! Everything is easily seen and the drawers are very spacious. I did rate the sound levels at a 3. It's a bit noisy when the water is filling into the ice maker, however, it is just a few seconds and very random. I plan to pay this purchase off and look to Maytag to replace my oven/stove next to have matching appliances. I even got a rebate for buying energy saving. You can't go wrong!

Overall - this is a good product at a good price. Love the freezer capacity and design. Love the upper fridge accessibility and clear shelves. Icemaker is great!Only two issues.1. At time,s it seems to run a little loud.2. I got the full size upper door. Big door does not want to stay stable when opened. It wants to swing wide open (and bangs against my cabinets. The only 'solution' from an install tech was to lock down the rollers. Ugh, not at my age! I got it to roll it in and out, not to get on my hands and knees with a screwdriver when I need to clean. Consider the French door model.
