Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Good but pricey

Justsomeguy 11/16/2017

Bought this from the builder. It has had multiple issues with the icemaker and for a $6000 (at the time) fridge, that's disappointing.

Adequate but expensive replacement

10/7/2015

I bought this refrigerator because the earlier model had a failure of the motherboard and Kitchenaid chose not to make the replacement part. There are very minor improvements from the earlier model but not enough to make me want to buy this if I didn't need to. Also, the new water filter leaves the water and ice with the slight odor of mildew. My hope is that this one proves more dependable than the last and that the next very expensive filter does a better job.

Reliability and Repair Issues Undermine Product

9/5/2015

There's great disappointment in an expensive and otherwise fine product that becomes a maintenance headache in so short a span (6 years). The repair technician is a nice man but unable to tame this demon. The freezer began to leave puddles of water on the floor, and ice build up in the freezer. The freezer drawer slides failed and were replaced ($500). The unit balks on a restart, sometimes taking multiple tries to restart - as if a relay won't latch. A new control board might fix the problem, but are not available from KitchenAid? The seals no longer seal properly. The control board is quoted at $1000 from another source? Really? And will it fix the problem? Nobody knows. How much money does one sink into a product that may never work again? My advice to Kitchen Aid is simple: if a customer has a problem, send a factory technician to solve it. Model KBFC42FTS00, S/N QU4854057.

So far a great refrigerator

9/3/2015

We have had this unit in our new house for about 2 months now. The overall size and looks of this model are impressive. The bins work smooth with the roller bearing design, a definite plus. The stainless surface is not as bad to clean hand prints of as I would have guessed. The ice/water dispenser opening could be larger to accommodate filling large cups. The water catch tray in the dispenser holds very little, easily runs down the door when full. The freezer is tight on space but that's to be expected with a side by side unit. Be aware, when you have to move this unit it is very heavy!

Kitchenaid KSSC42QTS00 Problems , Problems

7/29/2015

I have a 2007 KSSC42QTS00 That is in a 2nd home with very little use. It just quit working and after sending the electronic control board for repair 2 times and still not working . I am having to buy a new refrigerator because no Kitchenaid repair techs can figure out why it won work. I call Kitchenaid and no help. I am switching to a Sub Zero. We have 3 homes with Kitchenaid appliances but I don't think I will ever buy one again. Refrigerator has been out for 4 weeks . We waited a week each time for the rebuilt control Board since it is not available to purchase and each time it wouldn't work when it came back and was installed.

This was a replacement of a KitchenAid that we have had for over 15 years. Only challenge is that it only comes in Stainless steel; would of rather had a choice of color.

cook1966 4/6/2015

We bought this refrigerator because our old was giving us too much trouble with the ice maker. So far we have no problems at all, neither with the ice or water dispensers. Not to mention that the fridge looks beautiful and upgraded our kitchen.

Best fridge we have ever owned

quailcom 2/8/2015

Replaced earlier Kitchenaid fridge as part of kitchen remodel. Old fridge was working perfectly and was donated to local charity. New 42" side by side is absolutely fabulous. Good looking and super quiet. In the last house we owned had Sub Zero. Our new Kitchenaid is infinitely superior to Sub Zero..

main control board "NO LONGER AVAILABLE"

Bill 5777 2/8/2015

I have had a KSSS42QMX01 for 8 years. The main control board went bad. It is no longer available, so they sent it out for repair. It came back "NOT REPAIRABLE'. Now I have a $5,000.00 refrigerator that doesn't work. Looks like the new "KSS" models have the same problem.

Little different from the one that failed after 8-1/2 years.

Pissedoffone 1/26/2015

For the record, I did not choose to purchase a new KitchenAid refrigerator. The one I bought and installed 8-1/2 years ago had a motherboard failure and I discovered that KitchenAid chose not to continue to manufacture that particular part. I was offered what they considered a good deal on a new model and bought it because other built-ins were no less expensive. My hope is that this one lasts longer and that KitchenAid will better support its products in the future. FYI: I have a 20 year old frig in the garage that still runs great.

Horrible ice maker design on door

misled 12/28/2014

The Kitchen aid refrig is excellent except for the ice maker located on the door. The ice maker literally freezes up and you have to either use a hair dryer or hot water to pour through the ice maker to thaw out the jammed ice. Go with the standard old ice maker as it will make more ice than the Kitchen Aid ice maker. Poor design. We are thinking about selling this refrig and buying a refrig with the old type ice maker.

42 inch Built-In

freelee 12/15/2014

This is my second Kitchen Aid 42 inch built-in. The first I purchased in 2001. In 2008 we lost electricity for 2-weeks due to a hurricane. I wish I would have known to empty the drain pan before the power came back on and sucked up all the water in the drain tray, through the heating coil above it that had developed pin-holes from the copper sitting in water for 2-weeks. I spent the next 6 yrs dealing with repairs, finally gave up. Bought a new one, Love it, loved the old one too, although I replaced the compressor 3 times, twice covered by warranty. Also buy a surge protector, it helps save the computer in the top!

Stores more than the KitchenAid it replaced

schnoodle 12/9/2014

I purchased a home with a KitchenAid "built in" fridge with cabinet front panels. Unfortunately, the panels wouldn't fit a new version of that so I opted for this model. This was after looking at the GE Monograms (which were CONSIDERABLY more expensive). I was pleasantly surprised that this holds more than the same sized fridge it replaced. I also like that the ice bin is in the door above the dispenser. It's easily removable too. It's also quiet and I believe will be much more energy efficient than the old one.

Nice Refrigerator

Ken11 10/26/2014

Nice Refrigerator all around. Some enhancements to the predecessor model (which we had for 15 years), such as temp display for both compartments, built-in water filter, digital door access controls and display, and more easily removable ice bin. The ice cubes are not as uniform as one would like, and the dispenser tends to spit quite a bit on the floor. Only other negative is that the noise level is a little more noticeable than on prior model.

Overall a good product but is to loud

1/7/2014

This is a good refrigerator. Plenty of space, attractive and keeps everything cool or frozen. I paid extra for the KitchenAid super quiet dishwasher. I wish you had the same option for the refrigerator which runs almost all the time. The DB level is in the 38 to 41 range. The dishwasher which only runs an hour or so ever dry other day is in the 20-25 DB level. It seems to me you would want the refrigerator which runs 24 hours a day to be quiet as opposed to the dishwasher that runs an hour or so every other day. I asked the dealer for a quiet refrigerator. My old (1999) KitchenAid built in was quiet. I was shocked at how loud the new refrigerator is. Is there any way to dampen the noise on the refrigerator? Thanks,

We bought this model Kitchenaid refrig because it was a perfect fit also had the clean lines I was looking for. The refrig has a lot of space and easy to wipe up inside. The ice cube maker works like a charm, it is always full. We has a Subzero before and the ice maker never worked right. It is also a very quit running refrig. Love it.

I am extremely pleased with the exterior look of the refrigerator in my kitchen. The cabinet depth is a very nice design. It runs quitely. This is my second Kitchen Aid refrigerator. This first lasted 18 years and unfortunately had to be replaced with this newer model. I am missing the space in between the first drawer and second drawer of the refrigerator side, where I used to be able to put a pizza or small 1- 1/2" tray in. Wish that feature was back. Also wish the freezer had a bit more space so that I could get a frozen pizza in it without having to turn it on the diagonal. Cuts out lots of storage space.
