As an Executive Chef I'm very knowledgeable about ovens. This is a commercial grade double oven. People complain about the noise - there is a very slight whispering sound as it cools off but it's very quite. I'm glad this is a true convention oven. Most people are unaware of why it's superior method of cooking but it's vital to have for a professional finish to your baking. I'm pleased to use this in my home everyday.

Oven is beautiful & works well. I HATE the noise it makes. It is very loud when its on. (not just the convection oven). I can hear it running at least 2 rooms away from the kitchen. After I turned the oven off, it ran for over an hour to cool down. Just imagine baking something that takes hours - have to listen to it the entire time + the time it takes to cool down. I'm not a happy camper. The only reason I would not recommend this to a friend is because of the noise level!!

We bought this double oven to replace our Jenn air oven. The oven actually matches our Maytag refrigerator and Kitchenaid dishwasher perfectly. The interior is very nice with slide out racks and a very bright interior light so you can actually see how your food is cooking. The fan system is quiet. The food comes out perfect. Thank you Kitchenaid for a great product.

replaced first one

After having the ovens about 3 weeks, I noticed the blue enamel was popping off of some seams inside the oven cavity- first they told me it was a cosmetic issue, then I finally reached someone with some sense and they replaced it with no issues- be mindful there is a small window for a replacement- not the whole first year. The fan inside seems to run while cooking even if it is not on convection. the fan does make some noises that don't sound exactly right, so I will probably buy the extended warranty when it comes around. The way is cooks is great, nice functionality in regards to the cooking options.

Great oven but noise was unaccepable

This oven was installed in our home two weeks ago. We were satisfied with all the baking features, but the fan noise - especially when both ovens were on was overwhelming. Although the convection fan ran even when not in convection mode, the sound appeared to come from the cooling fans. A high pitched whire similar to wind through a leaky window. The noise could be heard several rooms away. We paid a restocking fee to return the oven.

So excited!

Beautiful appearance. The fan is loud, yes, but not any louder than a bathroom ceiling fan/vent (can be ignored easily, way more quiet than over the range vent). It does stay on for a while after use (avg 30-45 min?) but the thing has no exhaust (not a gas oven) so how else is it supposed to cool down and prevent a fire or damage to the cabinets. Super easy install. BE CAREFUL w/doors. Stainless steel is malleable and due to poor transportation by the installing company both doors have bents on them from the dolly bands (Pacific Sales will be repairing this). The two ovens are beautiful. Only wish they had a "warming oven" or "keep warm" feature, that the lights (top and bottom oven) operated independently, and that it would turn off on its own (maybe it can and I just have not figured out how).

simple easy to use controls

This is my second KitchenAid double oven. I was very pleased with the previous model so it was an easy choice. This oven looks great! My wife and I have done a lot of baking since we purchased this unit almost three months ago, and if works very well. The problem is the amount of noise from the internal fan. Annoying would be an understatement! I immediately called KitchenAid and a local serviceman was sent to inspect the oven. He said that there was nothing to repair and that the oven was operating normally. The noise from the oven sounds like I'm driving my car with the window not quite closed. In fact, it is worse than the dish washer. This would be a good choice if it was well away from at her living areas.

Love the appearance of the oven

Bought this just after Thanksgiving. I love the look of the oven and after getting used to a new oven it has performed very well. One issue I have that granted I haven't contacted Kitchenaid on is that while the oven carcass is plumb the shelves in both upper and lower oven are not level. I have checked and measured with a tape and a level to be sure. I checked the store where I bought it and the floor models do not have this problem. Granted this may only affect a cake, but it's disconcerting to notice the shelves are not level. So now that the holidays are over, I'll be contacting Kitchenaid and see about the shelving issue.

"Bread Proof" setting is the best!

Great but Fan is Noisy

Bought this oven over 5 years ago and when we moved my wife insisted on this make and model again. The fan noise is very annoying to me but my wife doesn't mind (she's use to tuning out noise ;-]) The fan runs long after oven is off in order to keep electronics from over heating. I also do not like that the oven light does not have an upper / lower capability.

Best features and looks great!

When my old double ovens died & the meatloaf was finally cooked on the Weber grill, And after much research, I decided on the KichenAid. I love it! It looks so modern compared to the old ovens and very user friendly. I also now own a KichenAid dishwasher and now I am a very happy person.. "

Love to cook

Love my new ovens. Blue is beautiful. Large windows make it very easy to keep track of progress of baking. Only thing I could think of to improve would be to have a separate light control for each oven as they are very bright and can be distracting, so why have both on if using only one oven?

Beautiful ovens, great controls and features, but ...

This oven replaces our older Kitchenaid. The old oven suffered (from day one) from an unuseable self-clean feature. It twice blew the electronics protection fuse. We manually cleaned the oven after that. Everything about the new oven is great -- the extended rack, the controls, the large glass door fronts, and many menu items. However, the engineers put in a cooling fan for the electronics that is fairly noisey. It runs for 3-5 minutes after the oven is turned off, even with the door left open a little. All of this would be acceptable except for the actual sound the fan makes. It was OK through Halloween, but the high-pitched wail of a Banshee gets old after a while. It's not really that loud, but the wailing sort of rises and falls. I thought of calling an exorcist, but will probably call the dealer just to check it out. We have yet to use the self-clean feature, so that evaluation will have to wait.

Great Size

We love the look it gives our kitchen. We love the width and simplicity of the controls, but we don't like the idea of having the fan run for as much as an hour after we turn the oven off.

Awesome oven

We purchased this double wall oven over a month ago. The quality is great and the special features (digital keypad, Sabbath timing, pullout shelf on rollers) are terrific.
