I bought this at the beginning of the summer in June and it repeatedly iced up on me when in eco-mode in 30 years I™™ve never had this problem with an air conditioner. So I am not happy with it. I don™™t run it in eco anymore, but what good is having the feature if I can™™t even use it

I bought this ac when my 14 year old Frigidaire stop fanning properly. I read about thismodel and was reluctant to install it cause of many people remarked it was noisey .Regardless I installed it which took me some time as I'm elderly. So, I was impressedas to how fast it cooled the room along with being quieter than my old model. I definitely recommend this Frigidaire ffre083za1 8000btu, I gave it four stars because the air flow guide is not large enough to direct the air flow.

I bought this A/C for our master bedroom in the middle of the summer when our old one finally died. This specific model was recommended by a local appliance dealer for our room size and the fact that we needed it installed through-the-wall. Overall, I'm happy with how it operates and how quickly it cools the room. It cooled our ~500 sq ft bedroom by 10 degrees in an hour. The motor sound is low and I actually find it pleasant, like white noise. The LED screen stopped working the day after install. I was able to get it replaced under warranty but found it odd that a well-respected brand and unit had an issue like that right away.Besides the screen, I'm very happy with this A/C and hope to use it for many more years to come.

Purchased this unit because I had an older a/c unit that decided to start leaking inside the house and rather than take it apart and attempt to unclog it I decided on buying this unit because I already have the same unit in 10,000 BTU and was really happy with it. Decided to purchase this 8,000 BTU for my bedroom and so glad I did. I cools wonderfully and is not too loud. Very satisfied with both my Frigidaire window units. Definitely would recommend.

In addition to my bedroom window ac, I put a very old unit in my living room window that I had in a closet that a neighbor once gave me several years ago, that I only turned on if the heat became unbearable and too much for the bedroom ac to handle alone. It was small, so it didn't cool as much as I wanted and pulled way too much wattage. In mid July my bill was too high. So I started researching online and this brand was one of my top choices. Then I walked over to my nearby electronics/appliance dealer that I used for many years. I asked him if he had any of the models I was looking for. He tells me that since I'm a good customer, he wouldn't want to sell me something he was not sure I'd be happy with. So he highly recommended this very model and offered it to me at the same price of another model I wanted, which was $10 lower than this one. He promised that I would be satisfied by offering a generous store return policy. He was right. I only have this unit for 1 month, but I am very satisfied with how it cools. Carting it home and setting up to put it in the window took a total of less than 2 hours during a hot afternoon. I enjoy it on medium speed since I feel that delivers the air most efficiently. The air seems to shoot out downward, but I was able to at least bring it up a bit by pushing the black vent grill to point upward one notch. The noise level is mediocre, but not an issue because it's in my living room. If I really need to quiet it down a bit, I turn it on low for a while, especially once the space has cooled down enough. I'm very basic. I don't use the auto, or eco features. This is my first model that doesn't use knobs. For the first 2 weeks I never touched the remote. But once I did, I was able to figure out how it all works. It can be confusing at first for an old-schooler like me. But it comes in handy if I need to make a last minute adjustment from my couch. Otherwise I mostly use the control panel on the unit since I have to walk over to either open or close the adjacent windows when I go to turn it on or off anyway. This unit is rated at 660 cooling watts as opposed to 720 in my bedroom, and 840 on the old unit that this one just replaced. So I'm hoping to see a better number when my next bill arrives.
