I bought this air conditioner three month ago for my bedroom. I didn't have portable conditioners before. So, I installed this item myself during 30 minutes. It was very simply! Then, I connected conditioner's drain outlet to external container for water through garden hose(bought it separately) and turned on the conditioner. 170 sq.ft. was cooled from 85F to 74F in 20 minutes. It's great! Unfortunately, a compressor's noise is the same as a window's conditioner. I hoped that it would be less, and the drainage water must be poured from the external container periodically.

I bought this item and have yet installed it. I am worried about this drainage issue. I'm handicap and cannot be draining water out. I have other portable air conditioners and no issue with draining them My airs are on 24/7. Pc Richards does not have an answers.Help

This unit was purchased for my Sister who is bed-ridden in a care home. She requires a room that is cooler than the facility could provide so the unit is an adjunct to the care home's cooling system. This means the unit is probably on more than usual and, so far, it hasn't skipped a beat. We are very pleased with the performance.

Be careful when operating this portable air conditioner. I was running it in "Cool" mode (which supposedly doesn't require a drainage hose) and the unit leaked brown water all over the floor and warped my hardwood floors. The drainage plug was plugged in tight and now I am in the process of figuring out what's wrong. The unit was also very bulky because the exhaust hose isn't flexible.

We bought this air conditioner to cool my son's 14x16 ft. bedroom and leave the door open to cool the hallway as well. It does an admirable job of it and is reasonable quiet

I have casement windows and needed a replacement for my 20-year old casement-window air conditioner, in a hurry. This was available locally. I innocently bought it without realizing that drainage was going to be an issue. I am emptying the water from an ugly temporary hose/bucket set-up every two hours. Having it on at night is not an option unless I can get up periodically to empty the water. It is likely a problem with all portable units, but I wish I had known in advance. I replaced an easy to maintain 10000 BTU window air conditioner with this 12000 BTU device and it does not cool as well as the old window unit did.

I bought this for my studio apartment (less than 500 sq ft) and I haven't even had it for one month.... the room it's in is maybe 300 sq ft (no kitchen or bathroom) It's very loud and it has to run constantly for it to feel comfortable in here.... It looks great but it's a waste of money... no returns or exchanges.... etc.... I wouldn't take the risk........
